Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto for Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213)

For the W213 E-Class with NTG5.0 / NTG5.5 — including the widescreen dual-display cockpit. CarPlay interface for the factory screen, or a dedicated 12.3-inch Android upgrade.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 interior with a 12.3-inch Android screen upgrade running wireless CarPlay

A vehicle-specific retrofit kit for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 (2016 onwards) that adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with two dedicated routes: a CarPlay interface for the standard central display and a 12.3-inch module built for the widescreen cockpit.

Where the car has the standard central display, the CarPlay interface connects behind the factory head unit and adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto while the factory screen, touchpad and steering-wheel controls keep working. Where the car has the integrated dual-display cockpit, a dedicated 12.3-inch Android module is made specifically for that dashboard, with separate left- and right-hand-drive versions. Both routes are plug-and-play, with nothing cut or coded.

Owners of the previous E-Class (W212, 2009–2016) and the C-Class (W205) are covered as well — see the Mercedes-Benz brand page for the full fitment list.

Installation

What fitting a W213 kit involves

Typical workshop time: 2 – 3.5 hours depending on the option chosen.

1

Remove the display trim

The centre display and surrounding trim come off with plastic tools. Mercedes dashboards are clip-heavy, so patience and the right tools matter.

2

Connect the harness

The kit harness plugs between the head unit and the original wiring. No wires are cut and the unit is fully reversible.

3

Fit the module or screen

A interface hides behind the dash; the widescreen module mounts on the original W213 fixing points.

4

Test and refit

CarPlay, Android Auto, the touchpad, steering-wheel controls and the original menus are tested before the trim goes back.

Frequently asked questions — Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213)

Does the W213 E-Class have CarPlay from the factory?

It depends on the market, the model year and the option codes. Early W213s generally did not have it, and factory CarPlay was often wired-only where it was fitted. Android Auto was not offered on most cars. The retrofit adds both, wirelessly, regardless of how the car was originally ordered.

Will it work with the widescreen dual-display cockpit?

Yes. For W213 cars with the integrated dual screen we supply a dedicated 12.3-inch module built specifically for that dashboard, in both left- and right-hand-drive versions. It is not a universal fit.

Does it work with both NTG5.0 and NTG5.5?

Yes. The W213 kits cover NTG5.0 and NTG5.5. If you are unsure which system your car has, a photo of the dashboard and software menu is enough for us to confirm.

Do I keep the touchpad and steering-wheel controls?

Yes. The kit decodes the factory CAN bus, so the touchpad, controller, steering-wheel buttons and instrument-cluster controls all keep working — both in the original menus and inside CarPlay / Android Auto.

Does it work with the Burmester surround sound system?

Yes. The original audio path is retained, so the factory amplifier, speakers and microphone keep working. Music and calls from CarPlay and Android Auto play through the original system.

Is the installation reversible?

Yes. Both the CarPlay interface and the widescreen module use plug-and-play harnesses and factory mounting points. No wires are cut, so the car can be returned to stock.
